Emergency Management and Homeland Security students observed and assisted with a cybersecurity disaster exercise for the Cleveland Clinic Enterprise in Beachwood on Nov. 1. More than 100 hospital employees from Cleveland Clinic facilities in Northeast Ohio met to discuss counter strategies and talk with subject matter experts.
“It is one aspect to teach the students in a classroom environment, but they need exposure to the system of emergency management and homeland security to pull out those small but important details that tie it all together,” explains Dr. Stacy Willett, professor of emergency management and homeland security. “The students are excellent University of Akron representatives. They are always open and excited to continually learn from field experts. I am always proud to travel with them anywhere they can grow and learn.”
